2023 (blog) Year in review
Blogging
As I did in 2022 and 2021, I'm once again doing a quick recap of what I wrote about in 2023.
Articles, Overall
Total number of articles
find
tells me I wrote 135 articles in 2023:
% find . -name "*.md" -type f -mtime -365 -maxdepth 1 |wc -l
135
This means (roughly):
- almost 3 articles per week
- 11 articles per month
Breakdown per month
The frequency is very inconsistent, as you can judge by yourself:
- 7 articles in January,
- 8 articles in February,
- 6 articles in March,
- 9 articles in April,
- 10 articles in May,
- 6 articles in June,
- 10 articles in July,
- 12 articles in August,
- 10 articles in September,
- 14 articles in October,
- 20 articles in November,
- 23 articles in December.
Language
Again, most articles were written in English, and 11 were in French.
Topics
My top 4 topics in 2023 were:
- Misc: 50
- IT: 29
- Running: 25
- FreeBSD: 19
(You can find all the articles broken down by tag on this page).
As a reminder:
- in 2022, my top 4 categories were Running, Sailfish OS, PineTime and Retrograming,
- and in 2021, my top 4 categories were Sailfish OS, PineTime, Running and Retrogaming.
What's next in 2024?
As I hinted last month, I will
slow down a bit the frequency of my posts, and will probably come back to one to
two posts a week.
Of course, this will also depend on topics or ideas I have, e.g. if there's a
topic I want to write about and publish right now, I'll just do it :)
I will tweak again my tags (I want to remove the Amstrad/Emulation ones), and I
realise that the Misc tag is a bit too broad.
Also, I may want to use just one tag per article - most do that already, but
some have 2 or even 3 tags: while this allows a finer grouping, I'm not sure
it's really worth it.
