2022 (blog) Year in review

January 01, 2023 — Nico Cartron

Some quick facts about my blogging habits in 2022.

Blogging

As I did last year, I'm once again doing a quick recap of what I wrote about in 2022.

Articles, overall

Total number of articles

I wrote 48 articles in 2022, so a bit less than 1 per week, and less than in 2021, but also exactly 4 articles per month (although there are months with 3 articles, and other with 5).

Breakdown per month

As explained above, this year I have been a lot more regular, with just April having more than 4 articles (6 articles).

Language

As last year, the vast majority (44) of my articles were in English. (I'm using English by default as it allows me reaching a wider audience).

I wrote only 4 articles in French, 2 being translations of Ted Gioa's excellent writting, 1 being from a fellow Sailfish OS French fan, and the last one being the French version of the article about the second Sailfish OS French meetup.

Topics

I'm using Tags for each blog post, which I find useful both for people reading my blog, and also myself to categorise articles.

This page lists all my articles, broken down by tag.

In 2021, my top 4 categories were respectively Sailfish OS, PineTime, Running and Retrogaming.

In 2022, the order changed a bit, with Running becoming my #1 topic:

  • Running: 13 posts
  • Sailfish OS : 11 posts
  • PineTime: 5 posts
  • Emulation/Retrograming: 4 posts
  • Music: 4 posts

What's next in 2023?

I'll (try to) stick to 4 articles per month - which I think is doable as I still have some things to talk about.

In addition to the above "usual suspects", I'll also introduce some posts about Ham Radio, as I recently bought an ICOM V200-T VHF transceiver, which I'd like to put to use!

Also, I'll write a bit more about DNS and FreeBSD, as those folks were not well represented in 2022!
