Who's the artist/band I've been listening to for the longest time?

June 21, 2024 — Nico Cartron

Following the article about my top 10 songs from Archive, I was curious to figure out who is the artist or band I had been listening to for the longest time.

While I've been listening to Archive since 1996 and Radiohead since 1997, they are still "in activity", but obviously I've been listening to other artists before 1996, even though most of them either died or disbanded.

So here we go, in no specific order - and I tried hard to remember when I started listening to each artist:

  • Pink Floyd - since 1985,
  • Jean-Jacques Goldman (French singer) - since 1985,
  • Red Hot Chili Peppers - since 1995 and One Hot Minute,
  • Massive Attack - since 1998 (Mezzanine)
  • Coldplay - since 2005 (X&Y),
  • Placebo - since 1998,
  • Archive - since 1996,
  • Radiohead - since 1997,
  • Jean-Michel Jarre - since 1988,
  • The Prodigy - since 1996 (Fat of the Land),
  • Rage Against The Machine - since 1994,
  • Guns N' Roses - since 1991 (Use Your Illusion),
  • Metallica - since 1991, (Black Album),
  • The Smashing Pumpinks - since 1995,
  • Oasis - since 1995,
  • The Cranberries - since 1994 (No Need to Argue).
