Music: Glass Minds (Archive, 2026)
Context
Glass Minds got released a few months back, and I listened to it plenty of times, but didn't take the time to write a review - now it's done!
I wrote about Archive multiple times on that blog, either talking about previous albums

here),
concerts I attended (like the amazing gig at Paris
Bercy
or The
Zénith), or compiling a list
of gigs I had been
to.
So to say I'm a fan would be an understatement.
What is interesting about Archive is that, being a collective, their members change a lot.
Of course, there's always the "core" people: Darius and Danny, but other members
come and go - bringing their own skills, experience, tastes - changing pretty much every album.
Obviously, Londinium (Archive's debut album from 1995) has nothing to do with Glass Minds!
On a side note: I realise that the constant change is also what makes Radiohead unique, and possibly one of the reasons why they're my favorite band.
The Album
Archive released some songs a few months before the full release of Glass Minds, so one could already get an idea of the style.
I must admit I got blown away by Lisa Mottram's style: songs like Glass Minds or even more Look at Us make me have goosebumps every single time I listen to them!
Conclusion
Glass Minds is definitely a great Archive album for me - I've been listening to it a lot, similar to Call to Arms & Angels or of course older albums such as Noise or You All Look the Same to Me.
The one thing I am not happy with: there is no proper tour planned by the group so far,
only a few dates here and there, which fill up (too) quickly or are not practical for me.
Hopefully this changes soon, I'd love to see Glass Minds performed live!
