Upcoming Sensor Watch Pro gets me excited!

August 01, 2024 — Nico Cartron

You may remember the article I wrote about the Sensor Watch board replacement for the Casio F-91W - heck, I even spent time figuring out how to compile a custom firmware on FreeBSD!.

I absolutely love Joey's work, and I am thrilled to report that he's back to it with an even better project, called "Sensor Watch Pro", which not only

  • brings back the 9-pin connector that was on the initial Sensor Watch (and was "lost" with the Lite version),
  • but also adds an infrared light sensor, opening up possibilities,
  • improves the buzzer - which arguably was a bit weak on the previous iterations,
  • and will also include an accelerometer (add-on board)!

Not only that, but there will also be a custom LCD swap - which means that you'll be able to swap both the board and the LCD.
The LCD will provide a lot more possibilities, so tons of fun ahead!

You can read more details here.

The pre-orders are not open yet, but you can register to be notified when that happens.

I can't wait to receive this beauty! Good job, Joey!
