The FreeBSD tag is dead, long live the FreeBSD tag!

May 14, 2025 — Nico Cartron

Why?

As I'm no longer working/writing exclusively on FreeBSD on this blog, I decided to move everything *BSD related to a single "BSD" tag.

This will make things a bit more straight (at least for me).

So now anything about NetBSD and OpenBSD will no longer have an awkward "FreeBSD" tag at the end of the article.

And of course, since I did not want to do those changes by hand nor lose the files creation dates, I wrote a quick Shell script to take care of that for me.

Broken links? Of course no!

"Well, Nico - what if I had saved a bookmark to your brilliant articles about FreeBSD somewhere?"

Well, fear not as there's an advanced a basic Apache RewriteRule taking care of that for me:

RewriteRule ^/tag_FreeBSD.html http://%{SERVER_NAME}/tag_BSD.html
