Properly qualifying the Tags I'm using on that blog

April 03, 2025 — Nico Cartron

Context

With the latest Year in review post, I figured out my Tags kind of once again went downhill.

Current tags

As of this writing, I'm using 19 tags:

I did some clean up in the past, and while most of the them are clear, it turns out there's still a few tags that are vague.

Being specific

Namely, I used the below 4 tags in various circumstances:

  • Geek
  • IT
  • Misc
  • Tips

Improving other tags

There are other tags which are too specific:

  • FreeBSD: while I'm mostly writing on FreeBSD, I'm also using OpenBSD for my mail server, and I'm tinkering with NetBSD these days,
  • Trail: I also have a Running tag, so every time I'm writing about Trail running, I use 2 tags: Trail and Running

So What?

I will merge some tags together (e.g. Trail into Running) and would like to bring down the number of tags I'm using to 15 - let's see if I manage to do it, I'll report on it soon®.
