Fixing calls not routed to bluetooth headset on iOS

December 05, 2024 — Nico Cartron

This annoyed me for quite some time: whenever I was listening to music/podcast and someone would call me, upon answering, my iPhone would route the audio to itself and not the bluetooth headset I was using.

Turns out it's super easy to fix - although how to fix it is far from being ovbious:

  • Open: Settings
  • Tap: Accessibility
  • Tap: Touch
  • Tap: Call Audio Routing
  • Tap: "Bluetooth Headset" from the provided options

(This comes from a post on Apple forums).

Why this does not work by default completely blows my mind - heck, my beloved Xperia 10iii running Sailfish OS does it!
