InfiniTime 1.1 "Dragon Fruit" - yum!
Barely one month after InfiniTime's first stable release, "Dragon Fruit" is available, bringing new features and more stability.
What's New
Steps goal
Another new PR from Joaquim: it is now possible to define in the settings how many steps you want to reach per day, and there's a new app showing your progress:
A nice improvement - which will be even better once the number of steps displayed survives a reboot of the watch :-)
Timer
When I interviewed JF, we discussed the fact that there are more and more contributors to Infinitime, and this new Timer app is no expection: Florian(@Raupinger) has submitted this PR, and it's a nice little app, super useful and I was indeed missing it:
You define the duration you need, and the watch will vibrate once the timer is
over.
It keeps counting even if you come back to the watchface (by pressing the PT
button) - so it runs in the background, which is not the case of other apps
(e.g. the Counter app), making it even more useful!
The vibration is a bit short and happens only once, so it would be nice to have it vibrating until you press a button - but I'm sure we'll see a PR for that soon :)
Improvements
- The digital watchface now displays the heart-rate icon in red when the HRM is actively measuring, otherwise it is grey:
- Other improvements:
- Connecting the charger now correctly displays the "charging" icon right away (that was not always the case before) - by @DavidVentura
- long notifications title are better handled - still by @Raupinger
- Documentation has been improved, and JF wrote a new article to get started with InfiniTime1.0
Wrap-up
Yet another nice release - no huge change (hey, it's named "1.1", not "2.0"), but the new apps are really welcome, both for their usefulness, and also because they come from the PineTime community! <3
